10 Apr HID debuts secure authentication in the Mobile World with new OMNIKEY® SE Plug
HID has announced the launch of the new OMNIKEY SE Plug reader at ISC West.
This ultra-compact and cable-free RFID reader is tailored for mobile use, providing seamless and secure authentication for organisations employing a single credential across both physical and digital environments.
With its pocket-sized design, it is perfect for remote workers and field teams requiring secure access to business systems, applications, and networks.
The OMNIKEY SE Plug is highly versatile, working with laptops, tablets, and smartphones via a USB-C interface.
It incorporates multi-factor authentication (MFA) to bolster security against phishing and credential theft. This innovative reader is primed for modern hybrid workplaces, catering to diverse environments—from healthcare facilities needing passwordless authentication to law enforcement agencies requiring secure access to crucial databases while on patrol.
Thierry Roz, managing director of HID’s Extended Access Technologies RFID Business Unit, said: “With OMNIKEY SE Plug, we are taking convenience and security to the next level in today’s connected workplaces.”
The OMNIKEY SE Plug meets stringent cybersecurity regulations and offers seamless integration across existing systems, all while ensuring an easy, plug-and-play experience for users.
The new reader is making its debut at ISC West 2025, booth #8053.
