08 Jul AIAC West Africa 2026 highlights asset integrity and industrial cybersecurity

Industry professionals from across West Africa’s energy sector gathered in Lagos, Nigeria, for the inaugural Asset Integrity, Automation & Cybersecurity Conference (AIAC West Africa 2026), which focused on improving the safety, reliability and resilience of critical industrial infrastructure.

Held on 9–10 June at The Civic Centre, Lagos, the event brought together operators, engineers, technology providers and cybersecurity specialists from the oil and gas, utilities and industrial sectors to discuss the latest developments in asset integrity, automation and operational technology.

The conference opened with addresses from representatives of ANOH Gas Processing Company, the IEEE Africa Council and Candid Oil, before keynote presentations examined operational excellence from Olatunde D. Gbadamosi, Executive Director Asset Management, NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited, and from Dr Kola Fagbayi, Ex-Vice President, British Petroleum, on the changing role of asset integrity within Nigeria’s energy industry.

Delegates took part in a programme of technical presentations, case studies and panel discussions covering topics including corrosion management, cathodic protection, inspection technologies, digital transformation, automation systems and industrial cybersecurity. Discussions focused on practical approaches to improving operational performance while strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure.

An accompanying exhibition showcased technologies and services from companies including Quomodo Systems Africa, Asset Integrity Engineering (AIE), Cenosco, Revoseal Nigeria Limited and ARRIDEX, providing opportunities for live demonstrations and networking between technology suppliers and end users.

The event also featured the inaugural AIAC West Africa Awards, recognising excellence in the sector. Individual honours were presented to David Oni of Shell and Ekhorutomwen Osemwinyen of Nigeria LNG, while Cenosco and Quomodo Systems Limited received vendor awards.

Organised by Aldrich Energy in partnership with GEXPERTS Consultoria Limited, the conference concluded with organisers highlighting the importance of continued collaboration and knowledge sharing to support safer, smarter and more resilient industrial operations across Africa’s energy sector.
