Comprehensive security system for Johannesburg’s new transport hub

Construction has started up again on The Johannesburg International Transport Interchange – one of the cities biggest infrastructure projects which will include a comprehensive security system to cover the 50,000 metre square site.

The security of the site will be managed from a control room which will link to a state of the art access control system featuring ANPR cameras and dual authentication. The site will feature multi-use walkways featuring food and retail outlets along with a bus terminal for cross border travel and a holding space for up to 800 taxis.

The hub aims to provide a safe stopping off point for people travelling across the continent and gives easy access to major transport routes including The Nelson Mandela Bridge and the M2 Double Decker freeway.
