South Africa is enhancing its national cybersecurity through the National Cybersecurity Policy Framework (NCPF), established in December 2015.
This framework aims to protect Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) in essential sectors like energy and banking while fostering collaboration among the government, private sector, and the public. It addresses cybercrime, improves law enforcement capabilities, and promotes cybersecurity awareness through education, with a strong emphasis on international cooperation.
In line with these efforts, the Cybersecurity Summit is set for 13th March 2025 at the Qurtuba Convention Centre, bringing together over 200 executives and industry leaders.
The event will cover emerging threats and innovative defence strategies, focusing on technologies such as AI, blockchain, IoT, and cloud security.
Featuring speakers like Simon Nare, CISO of AECI; Sihle Mthiyane, CIO of NTP Radioisotopes SOC Ltd; and Kuseni Dlamini, Chairman of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings, the summit will tackle topics such as integrating AI into cybersecurity and implementing Trust, Risk, and Security Management (TRiSM) in South Africa.
Running from 9am to 5pm, the event aims to provide essential insights for safeguarding digital assets and tackling emerging risks in the cybersecurity landscape.
