Fire guts Nigerian Police HQ

Fire has ripped through the Nigeria Police Force, Kano State Command headquarters, destroying multiple offices and files.

The one-storey building situated at Bompai, Nasarawa Local Government Area was engulfed in flames. Important police files are presumed to have been burnt in the ashes.

As yet unconfirmed reports state that the entire top floor of the building was touched by the fire, with only the office of the State Police Commissioner, Mamman Dauda, being spared, as it is fortified.

The state fire service has confirmed it deployed its services to the scene of the crime to contain the blaze.

The source of the fire has not yet been verified.
