India-Africa Defence Dialogue to be held at DefExpo

Back in February 2020, the first India-Africa Defence Ministers’ Conclave was held in Lucknow, and now March next year will see the India-Africa Defence Dialogue be held on the fringes of the biennial DefExpo military exhibition.

India has proposed to institutionalise the India-Africa Defence Dialogue during successive DefExpos.

In a statement, Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister, commented: ““Institutionalisation of the India Africa Defence Dialogue will help building on the existing partnerships between African countries and India and to explore new areas of convergence for mutual engagements including areas like capacity building, training, cyber security, maritime security and counter terrorism.”

The broad theme of next year’s event is to be: India-Africa: Adopting strategy for synergizing and strengthening defence and security cooperation. It will be held alongside DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gjarat.
