11 Aug Infoblox releases 2025 DNS Threat Landscape Report

Infoblox has shared its 2025 DNS Threat Landscape Report, revealing a significant rise in DNS-based cyber threats.

The report indicates that of the 100.8 million newly observed domains, 25.1 per cent were classified as malicious or suspicious, while 82 per cent of environments encountered domains linked to malicious adtech.

This year’s findings show how threat actors are increasingly exploiting DNS to deceive users and evade detection.

Infoblox Threat Intel has identified over 660 unique threat actors and more than 204,000 suspicious domain clusters, and outlines the majority of traffic distribution systems (TDS) that help criminals in concealing their activities.

With nearly half a million TDS domains detected in the past year and daily incidents of DNS tunnelling and command and control activities, the report calls for more proactive security measures to be implemented across the board.

This is so that companies can prevent an attack, instead of spending thousands on cleaning up the mess afterwards.
