10 Sep Kenyan parents anxiously await news of children after school fire

Parents are anxiously waiting for news after a fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in central Kenya killed 17 children, with 70 still unaccounted for.

Some missing pupils may have escaped into the local community or been picked up by parents without the school’s knowledge.

The cause of the fire, which broke out in a dormitory with over 150 children, is unknown, and an investigation has been ordered, with authorities hoping to account for the remaining missing children.
