08 Sep LDA Audio Tech launches compact EN 54 voice alarm system

LDA Audio Tech has launched a new compact public address and voice evacuation system designed to provide EN 54-certified functionality for smaller-scale installations.

The Mini ONE, unveiled on 1 September, is based around the new ONE-150 model, which is certified to EN 54-16 and EN 54-4 and is designed for installations requiring up to two audio zones.

The system expands LDA Audio Tech‘s ONE series below the existing ONE-500, providing a lower-capacity option for sites where the full power and functionality of a larger system are not required.

The manufacturer says the system is aimed at applications including retail premises, sports centres, low-occupancy public buildings, educational facilities and franchise networks.

The ONE-150 incorporates two Class D amplification channels, providing up to 150 W per channel, configured as main and backup amplification. The arrangement is designed to maintain system continuity in the event of an amplifier failure while meeting EN 54-16 requirements.

The system can operate with an A/B zone layout or two independent zones, with speaker line and end-of-line supervision.

Other features include three audio inputs with priority levels, two pre-amplified outputs for external amplifiers and integrated digital signal processing. The DSP provides functions including parametric equalisation, loudness control and independent volume adjustment for each zone.

For emergency communications, the system includes dual EVAC and ALERT pre-recorded message playback, with up to 10 minutes of memory. It can also integrate with fire detection panels through four plus two supervised GPIO ports and Modbus RTU.

Local operation is provided through an LCD display, removing the need for external software for basic control. The system can also support up to eight MPS-8Z microphones or VAP-1 panels via CAT5 UTP.

Alongside Mini ONE, LDA Audio Tech has announced new developments intended to extend the ONE series into larger and distributed architectures.

NEXO Hub Lite is included as standard with the ONE-150 and ONE-500, allowing them to be integrated into multisite networks alongside LDA’s NEO and NEO+ systems.

This allows individual smaller installations to retain local operation while becoming part of a wider IP-based infrastructure. The manufacturer gives examples including shopping centres, where NEO+ could serve common areas while ONE systems are deployed within individual units, and airports where smaller ONE systems could be used in duty-free areas.

LDA Audio Tech has also introduced EVAC Control ONE, a graphical platform for centralised management and supervision of ONE-150 and ONE-500 systems.

The platform uses an RS-485 connection to provide system status and fault monitoring and centralised volume management. It also includes global Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and integration with generic analogue equipment.

A Quick Launcher function is designed to allow pre-configured actions to be activated rapidly, supporting emergency response procedures. LDA says the platform also meets applicable requirements of the European Cyber Resilience Act.

EVAC Control ONE is scheduled to become available from October 2026.

The Mini ONE launch gives the ONE series a two-zone, 150 W option for compact projects, while the ONE-500 provides up to six zones and 500 W for larger installations. The wider LDA portfolio also includes the NEO+ series for larger and more distributed applications.
