Magirus’ recent acquisition of Achleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH, a prominent Austrian manufacturer of off-road and safety vehicles, has just been announced.

By integrating Achleitner’s specialised capabilities into its existing portfolio, Magirus aims to enhance its capacity in delivering customised special-purpose vehicles designed for demanding terrain, security, and defence applications.

Fatmir Veselaj, CEO of Magirus, said, “The acquisition of Achleitner is the next important step in implementing our transformation plan to expand and strengthen Magirus in a targeted manner. We are gaining valuable expertise in the field of robust all-wheel drive and safety vehicles, which ideally complements our expertise in firefighting vehicle technology and creates additional capacity. This will enable us to offer our customers an even broader range of special-purpose vehicles for all types of extreme and safety-related operations in the future and to continue on our growth path.”

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to customary conditions.

These developments follow Magirus GmbH’s recent securing of a large follow-up order from the Saudi Electricity Company, which will deliver 20 of its state-of-the-art AirCore TAF60-X vehicles. This delivery not only enhances Magirus’s presence in the Gulf region but also demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of its international clients.

Adding to its momentum, Magirus announced the acquisition of Mutares, as well as the shipment of its largest tank pumper, the TLF 28000, authorised for road use, to Kuwait. This delivery includes eight large-scale tank pumpers along with five TLF 4000 models, further placing Magirus in a position as a leader in emergency response vehicles across the Middle East.
