19 Dec Magirus expands its fire truck line
Magirus has officially launched a new fire truck designed to enhance firefighting operations.
Last week, Magirus CEO Thomas Hilse presented the first SmartControl turntable ladder, an M32L-AS SC model, to the Offenbach am Main professional fire brigade.
This new turntable ladder features SmartControl technology, setting new ergonomics, efficiency, and safety standards.
After years of development, this technology is now being used for the first time in the German state of Hesse.
SmartControl is an advanced control system that makes it easier for firefighters to operate the turntable ladder.
With its user-friendly controls and quick menu navigation, the ladder is comfortable and intuitive. This technology also includes features that assist firefighters in quickly and safely responding to emergencies.
Instead of using simple movements to position the ladder, firefighters can now perform multiple movements simultaneously, allowing them to reach the necessary location faster than ever before.
“With SmartControl, we provide our customers with a solution that prepares them to meet today’s challenges and adapt to future needs,” said CEO Thomas Hilse.
One standout feature of this new generation of turntable ladders is the introduction of SmartFunctions.
These smart features help emergency personnel work quickly and safely in various situations. For example, the Magirus CageControl allows easy control of the rescue platform in all directions, while the FacadeFunction helps align the ladder alongside building facades.
The system also includes a camera setup that provides up to four different views around the vehicle, particularly helpful in chaotic situations.
This 32-meter ladder is equipped with a special set of controls designed for comfort and ease of use.
The Magirus RescuePilot, located on the main control panel, allows for smooth movements, which is especially beneficial during long operations. Other controls, like the ClassicPilot and MenuPilot, enable quick and easy adjustments.
