16 Oct Mann Mcgowan launches pyroglaze compression, a high-performance fire-rated glazing seal

Mann McGowan has introduced its latest solution, Pyroglaze Compression, a compressible graphite intumescent seal designed specifically for use in glazed apertures.

Available for applications requiring either thirty or sixty minutes of fire protection, Pyroglaze Compression can compress by up to 2mm on each side of the glass. This feature accommodates the tolerances present between the door, bead, and the thickness of the glass itself.

In the event of a fire, the intumescent material swells, creating an effective seal within the glazing pocket. This dramatically reduces the risk of premature ignition of the glazing beads on the protected side.

The development of Pyroglaze Compression was undertaken in partnership with Pyroguard, part of the Saverto group of companies focusing on passive fire protection.
