30 Sep Marrakech Air Show 2026 to spotlight Morocco’s growing aerospace and defence sector
Morocco is set to showcase the development of its aerospace and defence industries when the Marrakech Air Show 2026 takes place from 7–10 October at the Marrakech Royal Moroccan Air Force Base.
Held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the biennial event is expected to bring together international aerospace and defence companies, government representatives and industry stakeholders, with this year’s programme placing particular emphasis on industrial sovereignty, artificial intelligence, high-tech defence systems and satellite technologies.
The event comes as Morocco’s aerospace ecosystem continues to expand. According to the organisers, more than 150 companies are now operating within the country’s aerospace sector, with the show intended to support greater industrial integration and the development of local capabilities.
For the wider African market, the event provides a platform for international companies to engage with Morocco’s expanding aerospace industry and explore potential partnerships. A key focus will be the development of local manufacturing and technological capabilities alongside the adoption of emerging technologies.
MAS 2026 will combine a static display of military and civilian aircraft with an indoor exhibition featuring international and Moroccan aerospace companies. The format is designed to give visitors exposure to both operational platforms and the technologies supporting the next generation of aviation and defence systems.
Artificial intelligence and satellite technologies will feature alongside more established aerospace capabilities, reflecting the increasing convergence between aerospace, defence and digital technologies.
The organisers also position the event as a forum for business-to-business engagement, with networking and industrial partnerships forming a significant part of the programme. This includes opportunities for Moroccan companies to connect with international suppliers and technology providers as the country seeks to strengthen its position within global aerospace supply chains.
The event is particularly relevant to the region’s evolving defence and security technology landscape, with autonomous systems, AI and advanced sensing technologies increasingly influencing how governments approach surveillance, aerospace and national security.
