13 May New product extinguishes fires, conserves water, and ensures firefighter safety

Midwest Industrial Supply has unveiled SparkBarrier®, a firefighting foam that significantly boosts fire suppression efficiency while enhancing safety for first responders.

Approved by the US Forest Service, SparkBarrier is a biodegradable, Class A firefighting foam that clings to surfaces, penetrates deep into burning materials, and prevents fire rekindling. The product works with standard water delivery systems and requires minimal water use, making it ideal for rural and wildfire-prone regions.

“Firefighters need a foam they can trust to work quickly and effectively in critical situations,” said Steven Vitale, president of Midwest Industrial Supply. “SparkBarrier was designed to outperform budget options and compete with premium products—without the premium cost.”

With the ability to wet combustibles up to 20 times faster than untreated water, SparkBarrier also cools surfaces more efficiently and forms a foam blanket to trap vapours and block radiant heat, protecting nearby structures. Free from harmful PFOS/PFOA chemicals, it is now available to municipal fire services, wildfire units, and industrial teams.
