NFPA Global Trends and Research conference to explore today’s safety challenges

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will be hosting its one-day online conference, Global Trends and Research, tomorrow Tuesday 2 November.

The event is the 6th in an 11-event, year-long 125th Anniversary Conference Series and will feature educational sessions, presentations, panel discussions, sponsor demos, chat facilities and networking opportunities.

Topics covered include: energy storage systems explosion risks; the impact of modern vehicle hazards on parking garage fire safety; fire safety challenges in low income areas; fire safety of facades; the transition to fluorine free foams and more. Experts from across the globe will be sharing their expertise – including those from the Middle East’s fire industry.

Birgitte Messerschmidt, Director of NFPA Research, said: “Research helps professionals and practitioners tackle problems around the world in an educated and enlightened manner; but research is only of value if the knowledge it creates gets into the hands of the very people who can apply new findings and implement different safety strategies on a local level.

“This programme is designed to bring forward the latest findings in areas where the trends show increasing challenges. The sooner we respond to these challenges the better we can ensure that fire and life safety are keeping pace with progress.”

As well as tuning in on the day, industry professionals will also be able to access the day’s session over the course of a year.
