Nigeria assists DR Congo in setting up a national fire service

The Nigerian Federal Fire Service is to help the Democratic Republic of Congo to establish its own national fire service.

“The DR Congo requested for assistant and the FFS positively responded,” commented Ibrahim Liman, Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FSS). “The request became necessary due to the capacity of the organisation as the most qualified and second-best fire responders in Africa.”

He noted that thanks to the capacity of Nigeria’s fire fighting equipment and the strength of its personnel, the Nigerian fire service was well placed to assist DR Congo in achieving its goal of its own national fire service.
