INTERSCHUTZ 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for fire and rescue services, civil protection and safety, will open its doors in Hannover from 1 to 6 June 2026 with a sharpened focus: placing civil protection at the very core of this global event.​

Against a backdrop of escalating climate, wildfire and humanitarian challenges, INTERSCHUTZ organisers have announced four key themes for the upcoming edition: climate change, civil protection, sustainability and artificial intelligence (AI). The “Safeguarding Tomorrow” motto will guide the event’s emphasis on innovative crisis management and integrated disaster response solutions. The introduction of WildfireCamp, where partners such as Bosch and the European Forest Institute will present advanced fire detection and collaborative firefighting strategies, signals a commitment to addressing contemporary fire threats and prevention tactics at scale.​

Thousands of global fire professionals and decision-makers are expected in Hannover to engage with live demonstrations, technology showcases and high-level panel discussions. The event brings new urgency to ‘turning point’ civil protection: increasing digital networking, cross-sector collaboration and public safety education are now recognised as strategic priorities. As part of this, the FEU Leadership Conference will debut, bringing together international chief fire officers to share best practices in incident management and resilience-building.​

For the fire sector in Africa, INTERSCHUTZ 2026 is set to be a critical platform for learning from international peers, exploring cutting-edge wildfire response and adopting next-generation civil protection tools.
