12 Jan SFPE sets April 2026 dates for Performance-Based Design fire safety conference
- SFPE will hold its Fire Safety Conference & Expo on Performance-Based Design on 15–17 April 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaii
- The programme will focus on performance-based and fire safety engineering approaches for buildings and infrastructure
- SFPE is inviting participation from engineers, authorities, academics and other stakeholders involved in fire and life safety design
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) has confirmed that its Fire Safety Conference & Expo on Performance-Based Design will run from 15 to 17 April 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaii, with a programme dedicated to performance-based and fire safety engineering. Organised by the SFPE, the event is designed for professionals who apply engineered approaches to fire and life safety in buildings and other assets.
According to the announcement, the three-day conference will cover methods and tools used in performance-based design, with technical sessions, case studies and discussions that address current challenges in fire protection engineering. SFPE notes that the event is aimed at fire protection engineers, code authorities, researchers, designers, and other stakeholders responsible for demonstrating that fire and life safety objectives are met through analytical design approaches.
The conference and expo format will allow delegates to engage with suppliers and solution providers whose products and services support performance-based design practice. SFPE states that the programme will also provide opportunities for networking and professional development, including interactions between practitioners, academics and regulators involved in advancing fire safety engineering worldwide.
For fire and life safety professionals in the Middle East, the 2026 dates offer a chance to benchmark regional developments against international practice in performance-based design. With engineered solutions playing a growing role in complex projects across the GCC, the SFPE event adds an additional international forum where practitioners can deepen their technical understanding and connect with peers working on similar challenges in other markets.
