11 Jun Synology launches updates for data protection at COMPUTEX 2026

Synology has revealed a wide range of new products and updates at COMPUTEX 2026, including the next generation of DiskStation Manager (DSM), new data protection tools, expanded surveillance systems and additions to its office and home cloud ranges.

The latest version of DSM has been redesigned to support new AI and enterprise needs. It now works with GPU‑powered NAS devices and AI appliances, allowing organisations to run AI tasks entirely on‑site. A new DSM Agent helps automate tasks across the system.

For larger deployments, a new Cluster Manager brings multiple systems together under one dashboard, with tools for workload movement, performance control and centralised protection. Active Insight now includes a Mass Deployment feature for faster rollouts across different locations, while an updated Log Center offers improved monitoring for security and compliance.

Synology has also introduced ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, which now supports protection for AWS EC2, Azure VM, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV and Google Workspace.

The platform includes AI‑based tools to spot unusual activity and potential malware. A new DP5200 appliance expands the ActiveProtect range for organisations needing more flexible deployment options.

The company has broadened its surveillance range with new access control devices, including the AC100 door controller and AR Series readers, along with new DC Series dome cameras.

New Deep Video Analytics appliances offer features such as AI‑based event search and path tracking. Surveillance365, a new cloud service, links with on‑site Surveillance Station systems to give businesses a single platform for remote and multi‑site monitoring.

Synology has expanded its Office Suite with ChatPlus and Meet, two new communication tools designed for workplace use. Both include AI‑powered transcription and translation, and keep all data stored on‑site under the organisation’s control.

For home users, the Bee Series has been updated with new BeeStation and BeeStation Plus models offering more storage options.

BeeCamera allows home monitoring through BeeStation Plus using Synology cameras, while Synology Deep Search brings AI‑powered local search to macOS and Windows, helping users find files quickly without sending data to the cloud.
