20 May Thales secures contract to enhance Singapore navy’s mine countermeasures capability

Thales, in collaboration with ST Engineering, has been awarded a significant contract by the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) to deploy its cutting-edge Pathmaster system.

This AI-powered and cyber-secured autonomous mine countermeasures solution aims to bolster maritime security in the bustling Singapore Strait.

The Pathmaster system, renowned for its effectiveness in real-time mine detection, classification, and localisation, integrates Thales’ Towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar (TSAS) and MiMap sonar data analysis tool.

These advanced technologies will be mounted on ST Engineering’s unmanned surface vehicle, enhancing the RSN’s operational capabilities in one of the world’s busiest maritime passages.

Located strategically at the Thales Singapore Defence Hub, established in 2023, this initiative underscores Thales’ commitment to provide comprehensive support, including maintenance, operational availability, and local development.

This hub, situated in close proximity to the Singapore Armed Forces and operated in partnership with ST Engineering, will also facilitate ongoing advancements and compatibility with the RSN’s existing systems.
