12 Feb The 2nd Global Outstanding Security Performance Awards revealed outstanding achievements

The global security community came together on 5 February for the 2nd Global Outstanding Security Performance Awards, a live-streamed virtual conference that reached audiences around the world and shone a spotlight on excellence across the profession.

Broadcast to an international audience, the event brought together security leaders, practitioners and organisations to celebrate those who had already stood out in their regions and were now competing on the global stage.

The Global OSPAs have quickly become a key date in the industry calendar, offering a rare global platform to recognise innovation, leadership and real-world impact. Throughout the event, speakers and award presentations highlighted how effective security goes far beyond protection alone, supporting resilience, continuity and safer communities across borders.

Winners this year represented every corner of the globe and a wide range of disciplines, from in-house and contract security leadership to training, technology, sustainability and equality initiatives. Their stories, shared during the conference, showed how security professionals are adapting to challenges such as conflict, climate risk, social change and rapid technological development, often under intense pressure.

Among the individual award recipients were leaders recognised for keeping critical services running in conflict zones, transforming community safety through compassionate approaches, and setting new benchmarks for frontline professionalism.

Teams and organisations were celebrated for long-term leadership, innovation, operational excellence and commitment to ethical and sustainable practice, while newer voices in the profession were acknowledged for their promise and potential.

A strong theme running through the conference was collaboration. Partnerships between clients, service providers and communities were repeatedly highlighted as key to achieving meaningful security outcomes. Equality, diversity and inclusion, along with sustainability, were also firmly in focus, reflecting how the role of security continues to evolve alongside wider societal expectations.

Professor Martin Gill, founder of the OSPAs, praised both the winners and the wider group of finalists, noting that all had already demonstrated the highest levels of achievement in their home regions.

He described the judging process as exceptionally challenging and said the awards were proud to honour those making a real difference to people, organisations and communities worldwide.
