Vegvisir is set to make waves in the military technology sector with the unveiling of its Vegvisir Virtual Command Station at IDEX 2025.

This VR-based command solution promises to transform fleet management and command and control operations by replacing traditional screens with a compact and interactive virtual workspace.

The system aims to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency within diverse command environments, from infantry fighting vehicles to large command centres.

Ingvar Pärnamäe, CEO of Vegvisir, highlighted that this new offering is the company’s third product, integrating all previous systems into a cohesive Vegvisir concept.

“With Vegvisir Core, we gave manned platforms a see-through-armour capability. With Vegvisir Remote, we brought this innovation to unmanned and optionally manned assets, enabling first-person view capabilities for ground vehicles. Now, with the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station, we are advancing fleet management and multi-domain integration by seamlessly fusing different data streams,” he said.

The system, which utilises head-mounted displays, eliminates outdated command setups in favour of virtual screens that amalgamate real-time data from Battlefield Management Systems, sensors, and various battlefield assets, including unmanned aerial and ground vehicles. This integration improves commanders’ ability to process critical mission information from multiple sources simultaneously, boosting situational awareness and decision-making capabilities.

Additionally, the system facilitates multi-user collaboration, offering a unified operational view for better team coordination.

Designed for rapid deployment, the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station boasts a low logistical footprint, making it adaptable to missions of all sizes and environments. It is especially suitable for armoured personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, and other compact operational spaces where traditional command setups are impractical.

The solution replaces cumbersome hardware with a cost-effective arrangement, using a Vegvisir Visor AR headset and a mission computer for full operation.

Vegvisir is introducing the world’s first human-machine interface system. It merges head-mounted displays with the Vegvisir Mission Grip panel for user control, ensuring a consistent and intuitive experience across all product lines.

The company has also developed the Vegvisir Visor, a lightweight AR headset tailored for defence applications, featuring high-definition stereo displays, a high refresh rate, and superior eye protection.

In conjunction with the Vegvisir Visor, the Vegvisir Mission Grip provides an intuitive method to interact with the Vegvisir Virtual Command Station. With features designed for efficiency and ease of use, including ambidextrous support and gesture recognition, the system promises an immersive control experience through its innovative software suite.
