WildfireCamp@INTERSCHUTZ unveiled to tackle forest fires

A new initiative, WildfireCamp@INTERSCHUTZ, will debut at the leading trade fair, INTERSCHUTZ 2026, addressing the pressing global challenge of forest and vegetation fires.

Set to take place from June 1-6, 2026, the event will gather experts from Germany and beyond to discuss early detection and prevention strategies for fires throughout the six-day programme.

The partners driving this initiative include Bosch Building Technologies, which will showcase its Wildfire Detection service aimed at early fire detection and automated alerts to emergency services.

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is focused on enhancing knowledge transfer and networking, stressing that tackling forest fires is a collective responsibility.

Meanwhile, @fire will contribute their expertise in firefighting training and response operations.

“With WildfireCamp@INTERSCHUTZ, we aim to foster collaboration between developers, suppliers, and emergency responders,” said Bernd Heinold, Head of INTERSCHUTZ at Deutsche Messe.

The initiative promises to engage visitors with interactive components, spotlighting the intersection of climate change and forest fire management.
