Wingu Africa has announced the launch of its Wingu Cloud Exchange (WCX), a new private cloud platform designed specifically for East African businesses and now available in Ethiopia.
The company said the platform will enable Ethiopian organisations to store and manage data securely within national borders.
This is expected to support compliance with local regulations while safeguarding sensitive information.
By keeping data locally, businesses are also set to benefit from faster access to services, improved operational efficiency, and more reliable performance through infrastructure optimised for the domestic market.
Demos Kyriacou, Deputy CEO, COO and Co-founder of Wingu Africa, said: “WCX is a game-changer for African businesses. We are delivering secure, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions built specifically for local needs. With this platform, we are setting a new standard for digital infrastructure in the region and accelerating Ethiopia’s transformation into a digitally enabled economy.”
The WCX platform combines a range of cloud services, including computing, storage, container management and security, with the aim of making advanced technology more accessible to organisations of all sizes.
Businesses will be able to scale operations on demand, pay predictable prices in local currency, and avoid exposure to foreign exchange fluctuations or hidden costs.
Wingu Africa said the platform includes services such as Wingu Compute, Wingu Kubernetes, Wingu Drive and Wingu Security, allowing companies to deploy, manage and secure applications more effectively.
It also integrates with existing on-premises systems and complements global cloud providers such as Azure and AWS, offering hybrid solutions tailored to business needs.
The launch of WCX underlines the company’s wider commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s digital transformation and strengthening cloud infrastructure across East Africa.
Wingu Africa said its focus on locally relevant solutions is intended to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development, while addressing demand for simplicity, reliability and cost predictability in cloud adoption.
