Women in Cybersecurity Middle East (WiCSME) will hold third conference in November

The Women in Cyber Security Middle East (WiCSME) will conduct their 3rd annual conference November 8th & 9th. The 2022 conference theme is “Connecting Minds, Creating Safer Future”. The theme represents the role of WiCSME in connecting the cybersecurity women of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to each other and their global peers to share knowledge for the purpose of creating a safer future for the generations to come.

The conference will be conducted both online and On Location in Muscat, Oman in collaboration with the Oman Computer Emergency Response Team (OCERT) Regional Summit. Everyone is welcome to join virtually for both days and/or onsite in Oman on 8th November 2022. The WiCSME2021 conference is sponsored by major organisations making it possible to offer free registration.

The event will be led by expert speakers, including women who lead cybersecurity in the Middle East, as well as international women leaders and experts. The keynotes speakers will be Eman AlAwadhi, VP Cyber Security and Resilience, Dubai Expo 2020, Tracy Z. Maleef, InfoSecSherpa, and Fatma Al Lawati, Cybersecurity Expert. In addition to the keynote speeches, the conference will include panel discussions, both technical and non-technical presentations, and interactive workshops, covering critical topics in cybersecurity from the diverse perspectives of the women speakers who are from the Middle East, as well as international experts.

The conference will conclude with the WiCSME2022 Awards, recognising and celebrating Middle East women in the field of cybersecurity in several categories: Woman Cyber Security Executive, Woman Cyber Security Researcher, Woman Cyber Security Rising Star, Woman Cyber Security Community Contributor, Woman Cyber Defense Heroine, Woman Ethical Hacker and Male Cyber Ally. The distinguished judges of these awards are both female and male experts in cybersecurity. Based on their decision, valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Prior to the conference, on November 4th & 5th, WiCSME will conduct a cybersecurity competition known as “Capture the Flag (CTF)”. The CTF will be supported by Cyber Talents and valuable prizes will be awarded to the top three winning teams. Register to compete in the CTF.

In 2018, nine women from the Middle East and North Africa region coalesced around a common goal and vision, which is to empower and support the role of women in the cybersecurity industry throughout the region and beyond through nine tracks of responsibilities, including communication, support, education and empowerment of women in cybersecurity and for all those interested in joining the field. WiCSME engages more than 1800 active participants from various organizations around the world as well as WiCSME afilliates in 12 countries.

The Conference is Chaired by Dr. Reem AlShammari, Global Thought Leader in CyberSecurity and Technology and a Founding Partner and Board Member of WiCSME, and Deputy Chaired by Priyanka Chatterjee, Co-founder & Director Services and Operations, SINEVIS, and a Founding Partner and Board Member of WiCSME.
