3DX-Ray has announced the sale of two of its AXIS-CXi cabinet-based x-ray systems, which will enhance security at high-threat sites in Rome, Italy.

Originally designed for mail room environments, the AXIS-CXi employs advanced colour differentiation technology, enabling operators to quickly and accurately identify various materials.

The x-ray system categorises materials by colour, with orange indicating organics such as explosives and drugs, blue for metals like firearms, and green for inorganic substances used in homemade explosives.

This intuitive system allows for efficient analysis with minimal training.

The AXIS-CXi’s innovative design features an extra-large inspection chamber while maintaining a compact footprint, making it suitable for scanning not only letters and parcels but also larger items like cabin bags.

Its aesthetic design and mobility enable it to be deployed in diverse environments such as offices, hotel lobbies, and banks. Vincent Deery, CEO of 3DX-RAY LTD, praised the AXIS-CXi for its combination of effective technology and unobtrusive appearance, highlighting its growing importance in security applications.
