Consumer cybersecurity specialist FoxTech warns that July and August represent some of the riskiest months for digital fraud.

With inboxes overflowing and distractions from holiday plans, individuals are more vulnerable than ever to convincing scams.

Experts at FoxTech note that scammers know summer is a time when people tend to relax their guard.

Among the most common scams targeting consumers this summer are AI-generated fake travel deals, bogus delivery texts and emails, booking scams peaking in July, and threats stemming from sharing boarding passes online.

With the advent of sophisticated AI tools, scammers can now create entire travel websites and produce booking confirmations that appear genuine.

Verifying delivery updates should involve going directly to the courier’s official website rather than clicking on links within messages. Proper research for travel deals is essential, such as checking independent reviews and confirming website contact details can help ensure payments are made through official booking platforms. Keeping boarding passes private is important, as sharing them online can unintentionally reveal sensitive personal information. Lastly, implementing multi-factor authentication can add an essential layer of protection to accounts.

“Scams are evolving rapidly, and what may seem like a harmless deal or routine delivery message could end up draining your bank account or exposing your personal data,” the experts at FoxTech said.
