04 May Studia Inc strengthens African expansion with strategic partnership to boost civil registration digitisation 

Studia Inc has announced a strategic partnership with D.IA Advisory to accelerate the deployment of civil registration digitisation solutions across Africa, as governments step up efforts to modernise identity systems. 

The agreement will see Studia Inc focus on its core expertise in large-scale digitisation and indexing of civil records, while D.IA Advisory supports local integration, including adapting systems to national regulations, ensuring interoperability, and assisting institutional adoption. 

The move follows Studia Inc’s extensive work in Madagascar, where the company has digitised nearly 10 million civil registration records.  

The project, part of the EC-MADA programme, covered 1,695 communes across 11 regions, including remote areas reached through mobile units equipped with satellite connectivity and solar power. 

The push for digitisation comes amid ongoing challenges in civil registration across sub-Saharan Africa. According to UNICEF, only 51% of children under five in the region are registered, with the figure dropping to 41% in East and Central Africa. Without intervention, more than 100 million children could remain unregistered by 2030, limiting access to basic rights and public services. 

Under the partnership, D.IA Advisory will take responsibility for embedding the solutions within local infrastructures.  

This includes aligning with regulatory frameworks, supporting data sovereignty requirements and ensuring seamless integration with existing government platforms.

Both companies are set to present their joint approach at the ID4Africa 2026 Summit, taking place from 12–15 May 2026 at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre in Côte d’Ivoire.
