16 Jul New partnership aims to support Africa’s aviation modernisation plans

A new international partnership has been announced to support the development of Africa’s aviation sector, with a focus on airport modernisation, infrastructure investment and collaboration across the continent.

MIE Events has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Niche Ideas, an international company specialising in the development and management of major events in infrastructure, aviation and investment. The agreement will support the development of Global Aviation Africa (GAA), a platform designed to bring together aviation authorities, airport operators, airlines, investors and solution providers.

The MoU was signed by David Wang, Founder, Chairman and Group CEO of MIE Events, and Daksha Patel, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Niche Ideas.

Under the partnership, Niche Ideas will contribute its expertise in event development, stakeholder engagement and creating networking platforms for the aviation industry.

The initiative is being developed in Morocco, which the organisers described as a strategic location due to its position connecting Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The development of aviation infrastructure has been identified as a key priority in supporting Morocco’s economic growth, improving connectivity and strengthening trade and tourism links.

Over recent months, MIE Events and its Moroccan subsidiary, Global Exhibition Morocco (GEX), have held discussions with public and private sector stakeholders across Morocco to explore opportunities for developing the platform. The organisers said these discussions have resulted in positive feedback and several principle partnership agreements with organisations involved in aviation, infrastructure, transportation, investment and economic development.

Global Aviation Africa is intended to become a major event focused on airport infrastructure, aviation innovation, air connectivity, sustainable aviation development and investment opportunities. It will bring together government representatives, airport authorities, airlines, financial institutions, technology providers and aviation experts from Africa and international markets.

The organisers said the initiative reflects their commitment to supporting Africa’s infrastructure development while contributing to Morocco’s ambitions in connectivity, investment attraction and international cooperation. The event is set to take place 24-26 March 2027 at Fiore Internationale de Casablanca, AMDIE.
