Tunisia’s Minister of Technology meets with FBI Delegation

As the digital economy picks up across the continent of Africa, Head of Communication Technologies Nizar Ben Neji and Head of the Department of Science and Technology, Katie Noyes met with high-level delegates from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The meeting, which was detailed in a press release from the Ministry of Communication Technologies made available on Sunday, also focused on the importance of international coordination to exchange experiences. The meeting itself took place between July 24th and July 28th, according to the press release.

The two parties discussed the importance of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, as well as the need to develop digital investigation mechanics to help both countries in their battle against electronic crime and irresponsible behaviour on social networks.

Both parties have seen grand development within the cyber sphere. With Africa starting to become a key player within the digital world, it approaches an important time to set the ground rules for its internet culture, something which the US seeks to assist with.

The two countries will continue to work together, advancing technologies and ensuring the maximum amount of care is taken with the development of the African digital economy and internet landscape.
