Two fire control companies engaged in cartel behaviour

Two companies that provide fire control and protection systems have been referred to the Competition Tribunal for prosecution due to their engagement in cartel behaviour.

The two companies, namely Fireco Gauteng and Afrion, have admitted to participating in price fixing, collusive tendering, and market division related to the supply and installation of fire control and protection systems.

In March, the Competition Commission investigated various companies in the industry for alleged price fixing and referred these cases to the tribunal for prosecution.
